Inadequate infrastructure is one of the greatest economic challenges facing the U.S. With countless municipal structures, including airports, bridges, and highways operating at overcapacity, sub-standard or in failing conditions, the need to address this challenge is urgent.

At the same time, the global need for improved and expanded infrastructure has never been greater. Emerging market nations are recognizing the need to undertake large infrastructure projects. With this comes new challenges, including establishing priorities regarding the allocation of scarce resources.

Poll Financial brings to each assignment an unparalleled level of experience and depth of understanding of infrastructure finance, including project finance, public-private-partnerships, and debt advisory.

Assignments

As a General Partner and Manger of the Municipal Division of Lazard Freres & Co., Mr. Poll senior-managed or advised on 4 of the 10 largest municipal issues ever financed in the United States at that time. These projects were: New Jersey Turnpike Authority, State of New Jersey, Louisiana Public Finance Authority, and Florida Board of Education.

Under his leadership, the municipal department was awarded “Deal of the Year” twice by Institutional Investor magazine for financings for Louisiana PFA and Washington, D.C. The firm also acted as the manager or financial advisor on over $175 billion in municipal and corporate financing.
